About the Labrottie
The Labrottie is a hybrid dog that is made up of a combination of two different purebreeds. It's a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Rottweiler. We've found the best method for understanding the characteristics of the Labrottie is to read both of its ancestors descriptions taking note of their temperaments, size and general look.

Labrotties come in a variety of styles and their appearance depending on the dominant genes they inherit. Some take on the look of the Rottweiler with a black and tan muscular body. Others favor the Labrador and come in the black, brown, chocolate, cream and mixed.
They are very protective but not aggressive. They are known to be very loyal and love human company. They are often emotionally connected to their owners.
This breed is loving and strives to please its owner. They are watchful of the house and protective of children. Socialization from birth is best to shape a well rounded dog.
Because they are hybrids they are usually healthier than their purebred counterparts.

This breed needs running room and lots of chew toys to prevent destructive behavior. They get a long well with other animals.
If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site.
Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
